Originally seeing this car in salthill it caught my eye and when the opportunity presented itself I took it with both hands. The owner living in the Shannon area decided to meet me in a quiet industrial estate in Athlone. Shooting with this car was a pleasure, from the elegance of the car itself to the humble owner just enjoying his creation.

I arrived in Athlone late evening because of work which gave the sun a considerable amount of time to die down and cast some nice light and shadows. After I arrived I started to scout for a shooting area until I came across an empty loading bay and the shots speak for themselves.

This is a early model of the e30 not the same shape as the famous m3 model but this being the least desirable of the 2 it still is a credit to the owner this is a clean car for being built between 1984 to 1987.

Who knew all you'd need to revive a classic is a fresh spray, a set of clean wheels and a shotgun style exhaust. The paint lay down on this car is flawless its refreshing to see the work thats put into a car that can be often overlooked compared to its newer shaped model .

when it comes down to wheels an easy and frequent choice is old school mesh wheel but this feels to me like a modern take on a classic with a set of Japan Racing wheels. Ino a lot of people look at these and second guess themselves after further inspection, these are TE37 lookalikes with Rays wheel stickers. The Japan Racing wheels universal appliance and low cost meaning more available then the real deal. TE37s from rays are shooting up in price and often hard found.

its nice to see these style exhaust being introduced more.

the interior, as true to age as the day it was built which is often a bonus for such a clean exterior.

Looking forward to seeing the owners plans in future months but hats off to a great start.

Till next time.
